Maybe I’ll go to Amsterdam, maybe I’ll go to Rome

I arrived in Vancouver on Friday night. Lara’s a gracious host with an incredible living space in a wonderful location. Couldn’t ask for more!

Lara and I joined her friends last night at the Illuminares Lantern Festival. We didn’t know what it was, but it turned out to be excellent. There were the obvious lanterns, some of them quite elaborate. I got a picture of one, which I’ll upload when I get a USB cable for the camera my mom lent me or a card reader. Visitors dressed up (or down; the bare breast contingent was thankfully in attendance), drummed, wore stilts, rode a blender bike… it was a surprise. We left before the fireworks because it was chilly and late.

I must visit Fritz. It’s right nearby!
